ModCam Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 September 2026

ModCam collects no data. It has no analytics, no accounts, and no network access. Nothing you do in ModCam is transmitted anywhere.

What we collect

Nothing. ModCam does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or usage data of any kind. There is no sign-in, no user account, no identifier, no crash reporting, no analytics or telemetry SDK, and no advertising.

Network access

ModCam does not connect to the internet. It contains no networking code, contacts no server — not ours and not anyone else's — and works exactly the same in Airplane Mode. The single exception is not a connection at all: tapping a captured photo's location hands that coordinate to the Maps app you choose and steps aside (see Location below).

Your photos

Photos you capture with ModCam are written directly to your own photo library on your device. They are yours. They are never uploaded, never copied off the device by ModCam, and never seen by us.

If you sync your photo library with iCloud or another service you have chosen, that service handles your photos under its own policy. That is your arrangement with them, not something ModCam does.

Location

ModCam can tag your photos with where they were taken. This is optional, and off unless you grant location permission. When it is on, the location is written into the photo's own metadata on your device, the same way the built-in Camera app does it. It is not sent anywhere, not logged, and not used for anything else. You can revoke the permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

ModCam's own gallery shows that coordinate as plain latitude and longitude; it never looks the address up, because looking one up would mean contacting a server. Tapping the location opens the Maps app you choose — Apple Maps or Google Maps — at that coordinate. That is a hand-off you asked for, the same as tapping any address on your phone: from that point on you are in the other app, under its own privacy policy, and ModCam has sent nothing anywhere.

Other permissions

Every one of these is used on the device, for the feature described, and for nothing else.

Third parties

None. ModCam contains no third-party SDKs, no trackers, and no advertising. No data is shared with or sold to anyone, because no data is collected in the first place.

Children

ModCam is safe for all ages with respect to data, because it collects none. It is not directed at children specifically.

Retention and deletion

We hold nothing, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. The only data ModCam produces is the photos you capture, and those live in your own Photos library under your control. Delete them the way you delete any other photo — in the Photos app. Deleting ModCam removes the app and its settings from your device; your photos stay in your library.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
